they’re moving around

running, they’re running around

missing the world

their eyes are busy looking down

or looking at themselves

trying not to be noticed

or trying to make sure they are

looking searching

some old

some young

all have unaccomplished dreams

no one takes the time to look

no one TAKES THE TIME. TO LOOK

no one takes the time to get to know them

no one TAKES THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW THEM

too busy on their phones

too busy on THEIR PHONES

too busy with themselves

IT’S ALL ABOUT THEM

were we just created for self gain?

or were we created for more than ourselves?

are we made for more

or do we work our whole lives, just to die?

look at this man

the one reading over my shoulder

he sits there in his white coat

drenched in the raw material which he works with

he sits there on his phone

with his dreams hidden under his black hat

what if this is his dream?

what if this is what he wants with his life?

to work in a store

for the rest of his lifetime?

if this isn’t what he wanted

then why is he wasting his life away?

look at the girl in front of me

she wears a pink uniform

with red gloves tucked in the back

we find another black hat

what’s hidden under the hat?

what’s hiding that is screaming to get out?

thoughts, ideas. amazing ideas.

all hiding under this stupid black hat

you see, this hat

seems to hold us back

we all have a hat

maybe the hat is represented as

a real hat, maybe a phone

a uniform, a handicap

friends.. or family?

i bet there are even people here

people looking

people staring

people judging, observing

i don’t blame them

i’m a weird person

i shake. i scowl

i have scars. we all have scars

clearly visible or maybe

they’re deep down inside

they are there though

don’t underestimate anyone
